When Massey Ferguson won the Tractor of the Year 2021 award earlier this year with its MF 8S.265 Dyna E-Power Exclusive, a joyful ‘YESS!’ – fist included – rose in our workshop. Here’s why.
Over the past 10 years, we’ve seen a growing interest in driving comfort among OEMs. Tractor manufacturers are no exception. So when the global tractor OEM Massey Ferguson approached us to work on the headliner of their MF 8S Series, we knew the stakes were high. “With this new tractor series, Massey Ferguson is aiming to usher in a new era in tractor design and driving comfort for their customers,” explains Stijn Van Wambeke, our Business Development Manager. “For the cabin headliner, the challenge was straightforward: to make the tractor driver’s cabin experience as quiet and luxurious as it would be if he were driving a premium car.”
Luxury meets efficiency
“Together with the Massey Ferguson engineers, we developed a premium soft-touch headliner,” Stijn adds. “But we pushed it further. Delivering a premium-quality product is in our DNA, but so is efficiency. That’s why we moulded the soft-touch headliner simultaneously when compressing, resulting in a sleek finish. As a bonus, the single-stroke manufacturing process kept costs very low.”
